[Connor is in the food aisle of Fruits Basket, specifically looking at the meat produce. He has a basket full of greens, along with some more colourful fruits. He's also picked up a cookbook, one that seems to focus on healthy alternatives to popular dishes. He's wearing his orange shirt from the party with his dark jeans, so he stands out- it makes him feel a little odd, to be in such bright colours, but he supposes it's no different from the glowing armband he used to wear. Tucked in the back of his pants is a pistol, the shape of it more obvious when he bends over to get something.
Upon seeing Kate, he raises a hand in greeting. Or rather, he raises the packet of bacon in his hand in greeting. He has a small smile on his face to see her, so he very clearly isn't the other Connor.]
Hi, Kate. How was your trial?
[It's more obvious in this light that his eyes are hazel now, with flecks of green in them.]
[ Kate has a keen eye for trouble. For small differences in the environment, and whether or not there's traps lay hidden. And while she doesn't see any of the physical sort, she's still on the lookout.
Connor and his slightly different hued eyes are not amiss, though, she does recognize the pants from the party.]
It went just fine. I've been lookin' through some of the stuff here, tryin' to decide if I wanna attempt to make somethin' after going so long not [She laughs, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly.] You plan on makin' brunch?
[ It's... still been a long while since she's eaten anything of note. Then again, she doesn't feel hungry either. Probably a hold over from the Entity. ]
[He looks down at his basket and gives an equally sheepish smile.]
I want to try. Falco needs to eat healthier, I think... so I want to make him meals from this book. But I've never cooked before, and it's not in my programming. I was never supposed to be a domestic android.
[He sighs.]
I can follow instructions well, but I still... want it to taste good. Or else, he won't want to eat it.
Used to cook all the time. Stopped doing so when I got too busy with shows. At least, stopped doin' it as often.
[And then the Entity came. ]
That's awfully nice of you though, hun. Always feels nice to do somethin' for others. I'm sure you'll do just fine as long as you give it your best shot. And if it doesn't work out, you let me know and I'll see if I can't help you out.
Maybe I could try to cook something for you, too... at least, when I get better at it.
[He's fully confident that he will, after all he's CyberLife's latest prototype. He can do anything he puts his mind to. Just... maybe not always straight away.]
[The call comes with no warning, after a while of thinking about it. Connor knows he likes Kate a lot, and he'd like to have a better date than the last one- he's sure he made it awkward by trying to change what they were going to watch.]
Hi, Kate. I was wondering if you'd like to go on another date? I thought that maybe we could play some music together. You can teach me some more songs, and if there's anything you'd like to do as well I'd be happy to do it.
[He pauses, realising he hasn't given Kate a chance to say anything yet, but he can't resist adding something else.]
[Honestly, she doesn't expect the call from Connor, and she's a little surprised by what he's saying as he babbles on without letting her get a word in edgewise.]
Sugar, I'd love to go on another date with you.
[She says, even if she's not sure she should be humouring him this much. She's... been through a lot. There's a lot he doesn't know, and a lot she's still going through. At the very least, Connor is someone who is... Well, she can't say harmless in good faith anymore, but he's not someone who made it a point to hurt her on purpose, at least.]
[On January 1, a postcard slips itself (gently) under Kate's door. It's homemade on high-quality paper, with a surprisingly nice ink outline of a guitar and a few music notes done in a calligraphy brush around the words:]
Happy New Year!
[On the back:]
Thank you for all of your help last year. I hope we can continue working together in the coming year. Wishing you good health and a long stay here. I'm happy to announce that the latest Sparkling Detective Akeboshi Koutarou film made a surprise appearance in Fogtown, if you need a laugh.

May have gotten a little chewed on, however.
How are you holding up?
no subject
The fuck chewed on you? The merdicks?
no subject
And that's correct. It's fine, I managed to beat them off before I became their dinner, so I definitely am riding the high.
Not really used to being able to fight off things that want to kill me.

Why is that? Does the Entity make the killers invincible or something?

That's- I mean, only if you'd like to, of course.
[Okay he's done now.]

Good. I'm glad. When is good for you? Tomorrow night, or is that too early?

[She'd need to wear an outfit, need to figure out what to make for them.]

[Quite happily, it's still soon.]
In the evening? Is there anywhere we can play music together?
