Personality:
Kate Denson knew from a young age that her voice was able to bring hope and joy to people, how something as simple as a song could light up a room with smiles. It was that moment that she knew what she wanted to do with her life. By the time she was 8, Kate was performing songs she'd written in front of crowds, playing the guitar she'd practiced since she was big enough to get her arms over it. Anything that brought other people joy or comfort, she was there to sing it from talent shows to music festivals. While she'd won whenever she participated, it had never been her intent. She'd simply wanted to see other people smile, and by her winning that meant others had to lose. Eventually, she gave up participating in contests and instead started playing in bars and festivals instead.
With this eventually came her world wide fame. From her humble beginnings playing in the states, Kate even managed to play at metal concerts in Germany, and even as far as to play with a KPOP group in Tokyo. While songs about friendship, family, love and home were her mainstay, nothing she sung was only lip service. Kate made sure to return home as often as she could to her family, visiting them as frequently as she could between the concerts she sung at around the world. Or at least, that's how it was for a time. Eventually, Kate ended up in a depression cycle, unable to truly feel like herself once she'd played music for money, and not to show her own feelings. It lead to her feeling like she'd killed her muse, and from there, gave her dark thoughts that the Entity twisted further into the only thing that Kate could play, a dark, sombre melody that wouldn't leave her head for the years she was followed by it.
While Kate's flavour text describes her as "A hopeful songbird, able to make the most of her surroundings", there's more to her than that. Baker denotes her as a ray of sunshine, only to later correct himself in saying that she's more akin to a bolt of lighting, someone with a brilliant light and enough power to split the world in two, and that to cross her would be a mistake. While she's noted as being readily friendly to her fellow survivors and always quick with a smile or a song to brighten the mood in Fog, to the killers she's absolutely a nuisance. Someone who can match them toe to toe and is resourceful enough to get away with it more often than not. Being fiesty isn't something that she'd earned within the Entity's realm either, as the Entity herself had to make multiple attempts to take Kate to its realm. While she was able to escape it's grasp the first time, her later encounter was not as lucky as her first. Though she had attempted to drive it away by attacking it with a large rock, her fight was ultimately invain, and it finally spirited her away to its realm.
Even before ending up within the Entity's realm, Kate was known as a kind and thoughtful person, someone who didn't like winning because it'd meant that other people had to lose. All Kate wanted to do was to help others forget their troubles even if it was only for a short while. Her self-penned songs of friendship, family, love and home were a huge hit among her fans, and it wasn't simply something she'd written to make money; Kate made it a point to return home and give back to her community as often as she could, to help out where she could.
And yet, even she fell into depression. Eventually, the money became more important than the music, and she'd lost her muse. Once where she'd thought of more songs than she could ever play in a lifetime, she'd now felt false and uninspired.
